TritonXR for Venues unveiled at SXSW Sydney 2024

Over 250+ matches ran across 4 days, hundreds of players and a world-first XR LBE experience. This was Tetra Studios unveiling TritonXR for Venues at SXSW Sydney.


We found that the game drew in large crowds for 3 reasons:

  1. The TVs showed the "Spectator View", which showed player perspectives, health and other gameplay info that helped to demystify the game to new consumers.

  2. The StrikerVR Mavrik Pro haptic blasters created a ton of noise through the magnet-based recoil, and therefore were a form of marketing in itself - people heard the game before they even saw it.

  3. The snowball effect - when a consumer sees a long line of people, they know the game is worth its salt, and they line up too. This creates an exponential increase in the number of players.
